A class of year 1 children at St Peters School in Burnham were recently treated to a visit from a local optometrist as part of their Science Week.
Tracy Leigh from Walker & Campbell Optometrist in Burnham High Street took some of her specialist equipment to show the children. She discussed how the eye works by showing them a large model eye and what is likely to happen when you have your eyes tested. She also passed around some contact lenses for them to feel.
“The children seemed really interested an asked lots of questions. Unfortunately many parents don’t realise how important it is for children to have regular eye examinations. At Walker & Campbell optometrists we recommend bringing your child from the age of 3 years old.”
